I keep reading studies that say that the 50's are often one of the happiest, most satisfying decades of people's lives, and all I can think is, a REALLY STEEP CURVE is going to have to kick in in a couple months, to get me from here to "happy".
So many things are hard, and so few are satisfying. Some of it is just me and the state of my life, but a good chunk of it is the state of the country and the world.
So, I'm sorry you're stuck in a similar rut, it sounds like, but solidarity at least!
I have to agree with the above wise women--I think we'd have to be elemental-level organisms not to be depressed and alienated and detached by the state of the world right now. Elementary school with "under the desk" bomb drills had much of the same grim grey oppressive atmosphere.
Rabbits, we're all rabbits, believing in death from the skies. It's not just you.
Yes, world news is enough to drive anyone to an existential depression, never mind anything that might be personally happening (either situationally or brain-chemistry-wise). I hope you find something that works to get you over this hump and hold on for better times. I care and I know others do too
