Watching This Old House. Casper: "I like that one. He's the plumber."

Sleep nights:
Thursday sucked; Dillo woke up lots plus we had added frat boy hijinks.
Friday was okay, for values of okay that include waking up 3 times between 9 and 5:30 at which point I was up for the day. (This is "normal.")
Saturday SUCKED. Baby has a head cold and is annoyed about everything, was awake crying for an hour at a timeat various points in the night. Daughter woke screaming at midnight and took mch work to settle down. I feel horrible.

mr. flea is off to Raleigh to work. I plan to rely heavily on videos today.

If anyone feels like potsing nice things in comments today, that might help. Like reasons I shouldn't flee/check into a hospital.

Oh, nights (and days) like that are the worst. Let's see, reasons not to flee...

They won't be this age forever?

Fleeing means traveling light. No taking your favorite DVDs and books with you. Plus, there's all that eating greasy fast food until you settle down again.

Can you nap with the Dillo this afternoon? Maybe on the sofa while Casper watches a video? (Is she still napping?)

Um, hospitals rarely have good internet access? Or chocolate supplies. Or book selections.

Casper's growing into a pretty cool kid (occasional night screams aside), so the Dillo will probably follow in her footsteps. Eventually.

Maybe you can help Casper write fanmail to Rich Trethewey.

Also, you have a new icon.

Oh, that sounds deadly. I'm so sorry they are working in concert to shred you like that.

Reasons not to flee? You're overdue for one of those extremely rare great days when they're both charming and loving and napful and generally tractable at the same time, and if you flee they'll go and have it without you and you'll miss it.

Also, hospital food, beds, and lack of internet will just make everything feel even worse.

I'd come up with actual nice things, but this comment has taken half an hour to write due to screaming-baby wrangling. Some days are just like that. I'm vibing hard for Casper and the Dillo to both crash, hard, today and give you a decent chunk of peaceful time.

First, I love the picture in your icon. So cute.

Second, don't really have anything helpful, but I hear ya. I'm so sorry it's been such a rough week.

Um, hospital sheets are awful? I hope they let you rest today.

Nora says: "Her's cute! That's my cousin." (Translation: Dillo is cute -- she thinks all babies are girls -- and Casper looks like her cousin Maddie.)

At one point Mr. M. looked at me today and he was quite clearly wondering if he would have to nail me to the floor to keep me from running away. Videos are a godsend on days like this.
