Man she's growing up fast. In addition to the thinking about walky moment of Tuesday we have:
1. Seventh tooth through the skin - upper right lateral incisor. The front teeth are in full effect, enough that I've had to pay attention to having a good position when breastfeeding, because a sloppy latch means ow!
2. Yesterday she climed all over the climby-with-slides thing at the park. (What do you call that thing?) Climbed up the slide. Climbed up several single stairs. (We have no stairs in our house, so she has very little experience with them. My mother says our visit north will include stair training.)
3. She has discovered the temper tantrum (or, in family parlance, 'temper tamper'). Red face, arched back, the whole deal. So far has been employed only during periods of excessive tiredness, but I can see the future and it is yelly.

This AM when mr. flea entered the dining room he discovered that a spider had spun a web from the chandelier to the table to the corner cabinet. Big-ass spider.

1) Of everything in your wardrobe what do you feel the most comfortable wearing? Why?
Levis? Not in this weather, though.

2) How would you describe your style?
Classic with wacky touches. Like my red polka-dot pseudo-ostrich clogs.

3) How many pairs of shoes do you own and do you wear them all?
I have about 4 pairs of dress shoes that I pretty much only wear to weddings. The newest pair is from my wedding, six years ago! Three pair of work shoes that I wear occasionally. Two pair of dansko clogs that I wear constantly. Pair birkenstocks, old and needing relining of the footbed, that are in heavy summer rotation. Jack purcells for gardening. Hiking boots now rarely worn. Old cheap running shoes, ditto.

4) Where do you buy most of your clothes?
Resale stores, basic mally stores (gap, BR, benetton, j. jill, j. crew - sale items only for all), LL Bean.

5) What was the last piece of clothing you bought?
Two weeks ago at a resale store in Chapel Hill, a linen-silk olive green bias-cut skirt, and a zip-up wool cardigan tipped in cream.

Harvest: 1 cuke, 1 san marino tomato, 2 too-big zucchini (it was a busy, rainy week). We are in a tomato lull, as it rains a great deal. They'll probably all ripen while we're away. Gladiolas have started to bloom. Lettuce finally bolting.

Bought a vaierty of herloom tomatoes at the farmer's market today. Tonight was the taste test between Black Krim (acidic, salty, juicy) and The One Whose Name We Forgot (classic tomato taste with a green/grassy finish). Tomorrow: Pineapple and Red Zebra.

I got my hair cut today and am still settling in to it. I'd describe it as a sort of shag. It wants product so its volume is chunky and piece-y instead of poofy. Must acquire product. Not sure what product - gel? Some kind of wax? I'd also maybe get the part at the back of my neck a bit shorter next time. It has flippy pieces, but is in no way cute (this is good). It may make me resemble Jane Fonda in Klute (this is less good). Talked about highlights in the future but I worry about the cost/maintenance.
