seven months
Feb. 12th, 2007 10:12 amThe Dillo was seven months old yesterday, and we celebrated by hosting the NCistas (with the sad absence of luluminion, whose household is suffering from a bug) and Dana and mr. Dana, whom we are tempting to become NCistas. Dillo celebrated by imitating Zhoul from Ghostbusters, Casper celebrated with some high-pitched shrieking, and we all partook of Incompetence-Night-at-the-local-Indian-restaurant-induced hilarity.
Here is the state of the Dillo:
Eats: He eats solids at lunch and dinner. He takes 2 4 oz bottles at day care, and nurses generally at 4, 7, 10, 1/2/3, 7. He was constipated a little bit again this weekend. He likes teething biscuits but so far is not interested in cheerios or veggie booty.
Sleeps: Down for the night at 7, then generally up 2-3 times before being up for the day between 5:30 and 6:30 am. Since he's been suffering from the Head Cold That Wouldn't Die for several weeks, I am hoping the hours of awakeness in the night are a temporary thing - we generally have to put him into the bouncy seat to get him to sleep, so his nose can drain a bit. He goes to bed in his bed and moves into our bed in the night, sometimes at the first nursing, sometimes at the second. He naps decently well, but doesn't have a firm schedule. We prefer it when he has 1 short (45 minute to 1 hour) nap and one long one (2 hours), but sometimes he does 3 short naps.
Cool tricks: He is sitting pretty well now. He gets from sitting to being on his tummy without bonking his head. He does plank pose - up on hands and toes. He tries to get his knees under him. He scoots backwards a little bit, and can rotate in place, but so far is safely not mobile. I've started bathing him in the big bath, which he enjoys. He's getting heavy for the Baby Bjorn, but for now it's still the best transport option for getting him home from school.
He seems to be getting fatter, if that were at all possible, so I'm thinking maybe he'll get mobile soon. No teeth yet. Except for the head cold and the copious snot, he's an affable fellow. His nails grow very quickly and I have to watch out because they are sharp!
