I'm thinking one of the continuing effects of the pep pills (brand name, prednisone) is the urge to spend money.

Yesterday I spent $120 on nursing bras, which granted was an eminently sensible, even necessary, purchase.

What I want to buy now:
Keen shoes are on sale in my size and a good color for $60 at LLBean. Yes, they're fall shoes, but they are a good price now and not widely available on ebay.

Heck, while I'm at LLBean I should pick up some sale t-shirts, as my long-sleeve t-shirts are going through a despressive/mass suicide phase. No, I won't need to wear them until fall, but they're on sale now!

I am dying to buy Casper fancy Hanna Andersson panties for some reason. Also, am planning ahead for her fall pajama needs, and thinking their long johns would be a good, durable solution (pass-downable). (Note to self - set Mother on this quest via ebay.)

Casper needs a bed. She currently sleeps on a very aged futon mattress on the floor. mr. flea thinks she should have a single and I think a double, since god knows we sleep with her often enough now and maybe eventually she and the baby can share (I am a big fan of bed-sharing among tiny children - if the armadillo is a good sleeper, maybe it'll rub off on Casper.) Cheapie Sears mattress and box spring can be had for $300 in a double, plus $50 delivery (or we could borrow a truck).

I really want two more dining room chairs; we only have 4. They cost $200 each. (They're nice, Amish-made, hardwood maple.)

I will probably buy none of these things. Most likely, I'd say, is the bed.

Casper got up this morning and had a dry diaper, mr. flea reports, and did a big pee on the potty. AND we got her to poop in the potty last night. It's so fun to watch your kid master a skill so quickly. I'm glad we didn't push this earlier when she was completely not interested; it would have been maddening for us and her.

(Of course, there are still accidents; I forgot to have her sit on the potty before we left school yesterday, and she promptly peed before the bus came, and so we were both soaked, but not by rain. And she peed on our bed last night, too. Given we've been doing this a week now, I'm still really impressed.)

Slightly less peppy now. It's hard being so freaking peppy - so distractable. A nice change from exhausted, however.

One of the side effects of prednisone is, as the dermatologist put it, "You may feel peppy." Oh man, right now I am so full of pep it's hilarious. I took a shower and was doing fake-cheerleader moves to that 1980s song "Oh Mickey what a pity I'm in love with you..." I chattered to mr. flea about the fabulous "Evolution of Dance" video at YouTube, then dashed out the door, and spent the bus ride with racing thoughts like this: "We should cook elaborately more. This weekend what will I get at the farmer's market? I want mr. flea to either make me a pie of make me homemade ice cream with fresh strawberries for mother's day. I forgot to look up that book for Tonya. Monday is the last day for a playdate with Tonya - I should get mr. flea to call her. And make sure to talk to her about the plan for my delivery. Maybe we should go to a baseball game this weekend. What a pretty dog." Et. Cetera. I'm kind of exhausted from just sitting still.

My face looks great. My inner thighs are purple, but nobody has to see them but me.

I wonder when the crash is coming...
