Lenscrafters
May. 22nd, 2005 03:31 pmDear god, I took a toddler to the mall yesterday, and she practiced her two year old ness. She used to be soo easy to take out - she'd sit in the stroller and wave to people - now she wants to push the stroller, leave stores we are looking at things in, lie down on the floor in mid-traffic, etc. There were two major and several minor/last-minute-averted meltdowns. We were there for 3 hours and gads was I exhausted on the drive home.
BUT mr flea got glasses and sunglasses, and I like his new frames better - they are metal in "espresso" which is a dark reddish brown. I tried on frames and now have an insane desire to buy a pair of blank frames. I loved some heavy black Armani ones - both squarish and round. I have such a long long face that a strong horizontal element in the middle is actually quite flattering. But even if I had $120 to spend on completely unnecessary glasses frames I would feel very silly indeed for doing so. What do you think - could unneeded glasses be justified simply as a fashion accessory?
Despite the tired of wrangling Casper, there was also much cute. She made a bee-line for KayBee toys and settled in to the Winnie the Pooh porch chair set in the doorway. She danced with glee down the aisles but is still young enough not to try to maniuplate me into buyng things for her. (I was tempted by Play-Doh and a Little People boat for her bath, but resisted.) When we went to get ice cream she danced and danced in front of a musician duo playing Dave Mathews. This almost made up for the "I am limp you cannot move me I will just lie here on the floor and sob" moment and the time I was holding her by her armpits while she flailed her legs and yelled.
