Picked and shelled a good-sized bowl of shell peas this morning, then ate them all raw before an hour was up. Casper helped me eat them saying, "peas! peas!" She was quite excited and buried her (snotty-nosed) face in the bowl at one point. A girl after my own heart.
There will be snow peas tomorrow. We got a fresh mozarella (too salty for my taste, though), huge bucket of strawberries, greens, and 4 basil seedlings at the farmer's market. Among the strawberries was a mutant with no less than eight fingers - it seriously looked like someone had done some gene splicing between a strawberry and a starfish. Casper ate it with no qualms.
We got a decent amount accomplished today but are sort of down and out-of-sorts. So far have resisted urge to bury sorrows in Ben and Jerry's, but that may be coming next.
