sunday, whiny sunday
Apr. 17th, 2005 02:27 pmEither Casper just had a prolonged bout of existential angst (and really, isn't she a little young for that?) or she has an ear infection. Whining, clinging, nursing, stopping to whine, cannot articulate anything wrong, being soothed for 5 minutes at a time by me singing or telling her stories about puppies (interrupted by a brief visit to the internet when she said "see it" and have I mentioned how hard it is to find a reliable source of cute puppy pictures when you are frantic?). Finally gave her some Motrin (which she hates), figuring if it's sinus pain or an ear infection that should at least take the edge off. She is now sleeping on the couch, once I brought the correct blanket (these things are important, you know). I this keeps up tonight we'll take her in to the foctor tomorrow - last time she had an ear infection she wasn't running a fever either.
I am now sharing the horrible cold she's got, and I hope mine passes more quickly than hers, since she is at a week now and still very crusty-nosed.
Cool weather, forst advisories at night but no frost, proper spring weather and the tulips are loving it. The famous wisteria in the Gardens is in full effect; we picknicked there last night and witnessed two brides and scads and scad or prom couples being photographed. At first I thought all the dressed up people were part of a wedding, but they were too un-matchy and tarty and all young for that. As we were leaving the gothy prom kids came in for their photo ops - 3 girls and a boy, with one girl purple-haired to match her dress and one in a black bustier with buckles. They looked shyly defiant. Cute!
