To wit, the human body and its relationship to clothing size. All my adult life, excepting the period of pregnancy and immediate recovery therefrom, my weight has been within a 10-pound range; I am currently at the low end of that range. This doesn't seem like that much variability on a 5 foot 11 inch frame, and yet - I own 3 pairs of Dockers pants in a size 10, and they are all now very loose on me - I could almost get the pants I am wearing off over my hips without ubuttoning them. I just bought a pair of 8s that fit well, snug but not tight. Should there be that much difference in sizing between an 8 and a 10 in the same brand and style of pants? Have they re-sized? Why is life so complicated? It seems like a variability of 5 pounds in weight should not require the buying of new clothes. Grr.

I found my shape changed after childbirth. Now I'm shorter than you (5'6") and rounder than you, even when I'm thinner (which I *so* am not, now), but I carry my weight differently (probably better), since I had my children. I've always been curvy, so my shape is pretty forgiving of weight to a point. Pre-childbirth, if I was 135lbs (am *so* not) now, I wore a 10. Post-childbirth, I could wear a 10 (just as comfortably--not stuffed into it) at 145 (which sadly, I am *so* not, now).

Do you think your weight has redistributed, some?

Meh, they might've resized, or you might've just gotten a pair that was a little small, or they might get looser as you wear them.
