snotty nose baby and Sarah Jones

I'm glad my mother hasn't been around to hear me call Casper "Boogernose" for the last 3 days. Mother feels that negative nicknames, even if given in fun, are potentially harmful to the child. She gave us a hard time when we started calling Casper The Fussa. But I say Boogernose with love, and it sure is apt. She is sooo snotty. Which has meant bad nights, and I've been nursing her once in the night because she gets dehydrated from the mouth-breathing. No fever, doesn't seem to be acting very sick, just a faucet of snot. We're seeing to doctor tomorrow anyway for the 18 month checkup.

I went to see Sarah Jones last night, and was fascinated. She's quite political, more so than I expected based on reviews of her work. The audience ATE IT UP. Interesting audience - lots of young to middle aged progressive-looking people, a good black turnout. Not a lot of students. She is so versatile in picking up the characters that her face even looks different. For some I could see that she was deliberately holding her face muscles or jaw a different way, once the way she held the mic under her chin made her face shape look different. Didn't get to talk to Sarah, because she was leaving immediately after the show to fly to Atlanta for another performance!

Poor little snotty Fussa (they're both darling nicks! It isn't like you'll still be calling her that when she's in 1st grade...). I hope her congestion clears up soon.

Sarah Jones is so amazing. I didna notice her facial muscles! I'm hoping she'll be back to the Berk Rep again so I get another chance to look. She seems to like to visit here, so, quite possible. Her control of the smallest moments of her hands amazed me.
