good things
Feb. 10th, 2005 11:55 amHad a good visit with my father and stepmother yesterday; they stopped by for 8 hours on their way to Florida to visit my great Aunt Jane, who turns 97 in a couple of months, and whom I've never met, though she faithfully sent me $5 at Christmas from the time I can remember until my majority. Casper was rather shy to start, but warmed up with some teasing, and eventually played chase with my father around the room for an hour. After dinner she allowed him to read her 3 books.
My mother emails that she is thinking of buying my grandmother's house in Cape Cod. By "she is thinking of buying" she means "she is thinking of getting her husband to buy," but, you know, house still in family. House is not yet on the market, due to delay in getting estimate for new septic, due to spetic estimators digging down 24 feet and stll not hitting good layer, needing to come back with bigger digger, and the, it snowed 3 feet, etc.
I got a nice long email from my friend E complete with pictures of her daughter (already 8 months old!). E should have a blog like mine - then she wouldn't have to email her mother about what C. eats for lunch every day. I'm just sayin'.
Casper and I have a date with friends (big and small, one for each of us) after work tomorrow.
I got to eat leftover pad thai as part of my lunch today.
The potential new vendor for huge complicated work project is goooood. This could make my summer rather less like circle 7 of hell.
