It is with great amusement that I note that a story that began as a post to my neighborhood list-serv by the police sargeant assigned to our neighborhood, and which was picked up by the local paper, has now been picked up by the Associated Press. The story concerns a party last Saturday night at which police, responding to a noise complaint, found ca. 200 students in attendance at an event apparently recreating a scene from the movie Old School invovling an inflatable kiddie pool, lots of baby oil, and young women in bikinis. One student resident was cited for a noise violation - it affords me further amusement to note that he is the son of my BigBigBoss, the newly appointed Looniversity librarian. His father works for the Provost. His name is included in the AP story, although the citation is only a misdemeanor with a $150 fine. Poor lout.

Happily, these were not OUR frat boys next door; they live over the block.
