Is what we made with my Christmas present from mr. flea - a 325 watt white Kitchenaid mixer. I got home, he was all, "Your present came today! Shall I bring it up from the basement?" And I broke it gently that I had guessed, so he did bring it up, and we used it. It is so fun to watch it mix the batter. The coffee cake was good, too.

I realize the reason he is so bad about presents in general is he is incapable of a) planning and b) keeping a secret. When we are out shopping, I can see the ideas of what to get me blooming in his face. If he does do something I don't know about in advance or figure out pretty quickly, he always gives me the present as soon as he gets it home because he is so pleased with himself he cannot wait. It's charming, actually. But there's really little HSQ in my present life.

Rocky nights with the fuss lately. She's got a minor cold, and it makes her cranky, and I'm tired. On the other hand, our recent cold snap has made us dress her in her snowsuit (which is orange, a nice dark reddish color) for outings at the park and the walk home in the stroller. She is very cute in it - she walks all funny because it's very poffy, and when she falls down she has trouble standing up again. She's like a mini orange stay-puft marhsmallow man. It was noted at the park yesterday that she clearly KNOWS she's cute in that suit.
