Is Ally like the noun, not-enemy, or short for Allyson? Because the former would be great! Except for how many people would mistake him/her for the latter.

The weird part is, not a single John or or Jessica or Michael. But both a Griffin and a Sabine.

Sabine is a darling little girl. Very quiet and big-eyed. Her mother was grading papers on a park bench at the birthday party.

I think it is South Asian, and I think it is jah-NAH-vee, but I will ask Dillo to be sure.

Oh, it definitely is, because there is someone who I know to be named that because I've seen it written down but I'm embarrassed to ask for pronunciation after all this time!

Dillo reports that it's a girl, and her name is said "JOHN-uh-vee." Take that with the grain of salt that it's from a 5 year old, of course, but he's pretty good about this sort of thing.
