I cannot do anything right

fleaTrying to take mr. flea to dinner for his birthday this weekend, and use a gift certificate to local swanky restaurant that we got in April. Emailed and called babysitters, failed, came to work today gloomy, asked desk staff student (so sweet), out of town.
Saw Facebook posting from neighborhood guy (recent college grad taking year off before med school) who is uncle of Casper's old friends the twins from Durham. Asked him if he was free.
He said yes! Felt like rock star of organization! Will manage to go on date with spouse!
Went to spam inbox in email and found email from neighbor teen saying she can babysit. Why went to spam who the hell knows. Frickin' spam.
Now appear to have two babysitters for Saturday night. Argh.
I also have two cat-sitters for next week, but that is actually good, since one of them is the 6 year old across the street who will just drop in and play laser-pointer with Simon at her whim. He needs a lot of attention, that little frisker, and she loves him.
