I learned to type from a class in school! My mother insisted that I take "keyboarding" freshman year of high school. I hated it at the time (plus, it was on old school computers with green glowy letters and stuff) and the part about learning how to format a letter was useless, but I do touch-type 85 wpm these days. OK, so most of the speed is due to extensive emailing and needing to write papers and shit, but the touch-typing part is definitely from the class--I think I did about 40wpm when I finished.
