I want it to be winter (and me to be rich) so I can buy the following things for my baby: corduroy overalls, fleece mittens and a hat with a chin strap, a cute girl coat in rose or floral fleece like the ones I saw for $150 at the chichi kid store, dresses once she can really walk and won't be just crawling on the hems and getting annoyed, stripey tights...

One of the things I hate about me: my thrall to consumer america and emotional enjoyment of buying stuff.

I have a friend who clothed her littlest almost entirely from the Once Upon A Child consignment store. There was evidently a child with Katie's coloring about six months older, whose momma shopped at all the chichi kid stores. The clothes were barely worn, in the trendy styles, and in the right colors. She never bought anything new, although the Grammas did.
