Clothes acquired: Long marine blue linen skirt with flounce at hem. Rather beachy but I'll wear it to work. Slim long grey marbled linen skirt with buttons at left hip. More polished and worky. Both from a great linen store in Vineyard Haven, brand Bryn Walker. I'm very into linen in this climate. Don't mind ironing. Chamois yellow silk blouse, courtesy of Ellen to sister (whom yellow does not become, she feels). (Note to self: Why is chamois pronounced "shammy"? Is there any relationship between the super-flannel of LL Bean and the actual little French goat, aside from the name spelling? I seek knowledge of the chamois.)

Also acquired, Burts Bees lip goo with color in Raisin. Possibly too dark, but it's pretty sheer. Tastes yummilicious, and may solve the problem of short hair demanding lipstick, me too lazy to keep reapplying.

Eyebrows slightly plucked - just tidying up underneath really - by sister. We fended off the voracious and painful tweezers of mother together.

Bikini line shaved for beach appearances. Suffice to say, I detest the whole concept of the bikini line. And mostly the whole stubble in sensitive areas thing.

Lesson learned about hair: it looks better the dirtier it gets. Right now it looks pretty great, and I last washed it on, I think, Tuesday. Maybe Wednesday. I conditioned it but did not wash on Thursday.

You'll notice that I don't do bikini lines. Or if I did, because now and then I do shave my legs most of the way up, it would just be with short scissors and a little care, rather than whole hog with a razor blade.

It isn't stubble-y if it's like a 1/2 inch long, and it isn't terribly visible either.
