Max seems to be common for both. We know two human Maxes in the neighbourhood and one dog.

I had to laugh at the dogs called Sophie thing, because my Hubby's sister is called Sophie, and they have a running joke about how the only other creatures they meet called Sophie are dogs.

But a friend of mine also named her daughter Sophie.
