The first day of school at public schools in Athens, GA is August 7. The last day is May 20. Weird. I wonder why? It's gotta suck for the air conditioning bills...
They just had to pass laws in Florida to keep schools from starting that early. I know there were some school districts talking about starting that early but they stopped it. I don't know what the theory is, well I guess in Florida it's to give more time for the FCAT since that's the only thing that counts.
