Yesterday Dillo learned to climb into the dining room chairs. Ten minutes later, he learned how to climb onto the dining room table.

Today he learned how to uncap the (washable) markers.

I don't think anyone needs to learn how to throw a full bowl of spaghetti or yogurt or cheerios or cheddar bunnies onto the floor.

Dillo is beginning to be a bit of a handful.

We have one of those new counter-height tables (higher than a regular dining table, not as high as a bar) and the chairs that come with it are correspondingly tall -- which is why I was so surprised last month to find Squeaky on top of the table, emptying the salt shaker, having already taken a bite out of most of the pieces of fruit in the fruit bowl.

We also have to keep all the bathroom doors closed now, because he climbs up onto the toilet and from there onto the counter, where he likes to sit cross-legged in the sink and raid the medicine cabinet.

Needless to say, Chuckles was not doing these things at this age.

Oh, yeah, my boy here hit that climbing-and-flinging stage last month.

He is no longer the easy child.
