day has resumed sucking

Or rather, not sucking, as breast pump appears to have unceremoniously died on me. A little occasional wheezing, but no pumping. I think I am going to go home, sleep, use the hand pump and ponder which is the best option:

1. acquire tubing for Medela Lactina pump in lactation room. Available in person in the hospital 10 minutes' walk from work, cost ca. $50. Would also require a couple of new bottles. Would prevent me from using electric pump anywhere but lactation room.

2. acquire new pump body for electric pump. Cost ?? $150; this one was newish since the older one died on Min, so I'm a little discouraged by it. Would take at least 2 days even if Fedexed. No need for new other parts.

3. acquire all new pump (Medela, probably) at Target or someplace local. Could be accomplished quickly, but cost likely to be upwards of $200. Would need some new bottles, too.

Must investigate. Too bad head sore and body tired, making rational cogitation difficult and pronouns scanty.

I have a Medela Purely Yours sitting in my closet. You are welcome to borrow it if it would suit your needs. It was given to me by a friend so I can't vouch for how long it will last, but it was worked well for me when I needed it.

Thanks, buddy, but I got one from a friend who is now a SAHM. It'll keep me for a few days until I decide what I want and/or win an ebay auction for it. It's a Medela, so I'll get to try the other side, and see which I like better.

I'm glad you got one. Unfortunately, when you need a breast pump, you kind of need it *now*, or maybe in the next few hours.

Also, I see that I managed to combine the brands. I guess mine is an Ameda.

Do you use those plastic bags to sterilize your stuff? I love them and they are so convenient.

Damn. Did I send the paperwork with it? I know I sent both bases. The old one still worked, but had started making weird noises and making me nervous, which is why I got the new one.
