Baby update

New human tricks: waves (learned from Hadas who comes to play and says "baby. baby. baby." the whole time.) Has once gotten from lying down to sitting. Regularly gets from sitting to tummy (only face-planting about one in 10). Can whack the buttons on the music box in her crib.

Went through a brief I-do-not-like-the-bath phase, but is now happy and splashy again. We got a non-slip rubber mat for the tub but I still sit on the edge and hold her as she's a wiggler.

Has been sleeping in the crib in her room for about 10 days now. No trouble with the transition. I am still up with her to nurse 3 times a night, and occasionally in between to pop in the paci. She's been getting up at 6 am which is a little ungodly I think, and she seems tired, but she refuses to go back to sleep.

Has learned to blow a short raspberry, and uses it for everything. She will do little spit-fests to amuse herself. Also will blow out air, and sometimes food, while being fed. She's not actually rejecting the food, I think, just enjoying her new skill. Is sometimes impatient with spoon-feeding and wants to finger feed herself, but she can't pick up slippery things well, and will not feed herself mush - just smears it around. Star finger foods are cooked peas, frozen blueberries, veggie booty, cheerios.

I am amazed by her fine motor control - she will pick up a hair that is lying on the high chair tray. Slowly, and seriously, but she's got it.

We've eaten out with her 3 times in the last 10 days and she's been a champ. Friendly, patient, not noisy, eating readily from a spoon.

Nicknames, birth to present, in no particular order: bunny girl, bunny baby, little rabbit, baby rabbit, The Fussa, fussa bunny, The Wiggler, Miss Wiggles, little monkey, little turtle, little frog. Mostly bunny girl right now.
