MUCH better

Casper was up and ready to go for the day at 4am. Probably due to all that sleeping while she was sick. We persuaded her to stay asleep - or at least quiet - until 5:20, and then we were for it. By 7, she was dressed and running up and down the hall putting on daddy's big shoes and saying, "I a big girl!" and singing Rockabye Baby and Twinkle Twinkle and "Here my handle. Here my spout. Here my handle. Here my spout. Here my handle. Here my spout." Talk about exhausting! (Note to self: intorduce Casper to the verb "to be.")

At work, after much worry I offered the job to student B. She declined, but dithered for 3 days first. I offered the job to student C. She declined, having gotten another job when she didn't hear from me. I already told student A that the job was offered elsewhere, and besides, I think his shyness would make me too shy to deal with him. So it looks as though I will have to interview again. I have too much work to do to hire someone to help me with the work! And they are drilling AGAIN in the office today. Argh!

Casper's been a Cave Girl this evening, or at least little miss mischief. Yesterday too, some. Dumping things out (whole box of cheddar bunnies on the carpet, on purpose), and now, throwing! Eli was a thrower from the time I met him at 10 months, but Casper never has been. I don't think I've ever seen her throw anything until today, when every other object she picks up is wham, over the shoulder. I'm so stpefied/amused that I'm not sure what to do about it yet, except to caution her about throwing the large and noisy things. Should I stop my kid from throwing stuffed polar bears in the livng room? The dilemmas of parenting.
