baby looooove
Jul. 28th, 2004 09:40 amYesterday I was distracted at work all day thinking about Casper. I'm usually not like this - I think of her, of course, since I pump twice daily, and she's my desktop backgroud, and so forth, but I'm pretty focussed on my work. I got home and she and mr. flea came back from the doctor (ears look fine) and I was just breathtaken at how wonderful she is.
mr. flea's sister and her family are in town for a couple of nights, which is great fun but also a little stressful. Ryan (5) still loves the baby and carried her around a bit at the Q shack last night. He is such a dear sweet kid. (There were 4 babies under 6 mos old plus 2 pregnant women there while we were there. It's not a big restuarant. They were not in a group or anything.) Erin is so tall! They brought another box of goodies - outgrown clothes and aged-out-of-toys and so I am feeling well-gifted.
Because of all the people, a difficult night. I put the baby down a little later than usual but then she got woken up about 3 times in the first 2 hours by Erin, most notably when Erin (nearly 2) fell down and gave herself a black eye with her sippy cup and howled right in front of the door to the room where the baby was sleeping. (Mini-rant - if your kid is tired and it's past her bedtime, don't just say "she's tired, it's past her bedtime" for 2 hours - put the child to bed!!) I slept in the same room as Casper for the first time in several months, and damn she's a noisy sleeper. Lots of wiggling, snorting, etc. Much better after I found my earplugs.
It was revealed (no surprise to me, some to mr. flea) that my BIL is a Republican. Actual quote, "I'd be afraid that Kerry would sell us out to France." Whuh? Now that's amking the kind of sense that's not. Is France buying?? He also drives a quad-cab Ford F150 about the size of my house, which will not fit in my driveway and I frankly find disgusting.
