Snot monster
Mar. 29th, 2004 09:21 amYes, Casper has her first cold. Came on overnight, requiring boogination, and ultimately sleeping in the car seat, and tylenol in the AM. Boy does a snotty head make her cranky, not that I can blame her, because it makes me cranky too. mr. flea feels guilty because he thinks he is the source of the infection. Silly. Colds abound and it's a wonder she's gone without this far.

Two messages came over the neighborhood listserv this weekend, from the same person. One advertising a used dual jogging stroller for $250; the other advertising a used kitchen stove for $125. Seems a sad commentary on our neighborhood/society when a jogging stroller is worth twice as much as a stove. A stove is actually essential, you know? Yet we value the jogging stroller more highly.

Date: 2004-03-29 06:44 am (UTC)I guess I'm not articulating well. I'm just sort of saddened by the "essential" jogging strollers I see pushed by the wealthy white parents in my neighborhood park, contrasted with the people from two blocks over who come with 5 kids under 6 and have no stroller at all.
