Casper loves 'em. Actually, so do I, though I have only come to do so in the past couple of years. She also ate avocado this weekend, I think I haven't mentioned. Wasn't as wild about that, though ate it okay. I'll stick with sweet potatoes for her so I can have all the avocado.

I don't feel like she's changing much lately - maybe I am too close to see the changes. She's happy, she's healthy, she does her baby thing. We've started doing a little sign language, which my SIL (a hearing impaired-educator by profession) did with her kids to great effect. I sign "more" and "banana" and "airplane" and "kitty." (No, these aren't the most useful, I suppose. But they are the ones I remember.) mr. flea does "milk" for bottles. She's not supposed to be able to even start doing them back for a few months yet, so it's an investment for the future thing.

Oh, she's been invited to be a "baby scientist" for a study in the psych department on language. Apparently I sit with her on my lap. I wear headphones that play classical music so I can't influence her. Audible speech in various languages is piped into the room from different directions, to see if she responds to different languages in different ways. (I am sure, personally, she will know that English sounds like talking, and Chinese doesn't, by this point. But we'll see). How much of a dork am I that I love being part of studies!

Heh. When my kid started solid foods, my pediatrician warned me "She's going to have an orange nose!" (From all the carotene in sweet potatoes and carrots.) Sure enough, within a month she did. It got better.
