The branch I'm temporarily assigned to is next to a highschool. I've never felt so curmudgeonly as when I have to go out in the hallway and ask a shrieking gaggle of teenaged girls to please, quiet down a little. I guess that makes me a "real librarian" -- I've finally shushed someone.
