18 month checkup
Mar. 2nd, 2005 09:17 amWeight: 25 lbs 8.8 ounces (75%)
Height: 33 1/4 inches (90%)
Head: 48.5 cm (90%)
Despite no fever, had an infected right ear, so off to the pharmacy for some Amoxicillin. Hope the yogurt trick from last summer still works. We'll see Dr. Betty again in a month to keep tabs on the ears.
She gained only 2 ounces since last time, which concerned mr. flea but Dr. Betty was not worried, noting that the growth curve flattens out, and she's not looking skinny. Still dimples at the wrist and little lower back dimples and hand dimples (as well as the fleakin face dimples). Casper is an erratic eater, but likes vegetables (peas, broccoli, apples and applesauce) and beans (right out of the can) and cheese and yogurt, so is hitting all the major food groups. She also hit the Thin Mints food group last week and got chocolate cookie on the couch, oh well.
All four of her canines are emerging, though the skin, and her lower molars are fully out, while the upper ones are still coming.
She's a long long girl, just like her mother. When she's in the swing at the park, especially if she's wearing a dress, her legs just seem to reach forever. Compared to the other kids we see most often, she's tall and slim and has dainty features (Ellen is a solid girl with a big face). Of course, given her parents' noses the daintiness will not survive adolescence (nor will her lovely skin). She's more a blonde than a redhead at the moment, though I imagine summer will redden her up again. I think her hair will darken with age, though, and as an adult she'll have hair like mr. flea's. Her eyes are very like mine, a little darker, and because of her proprtions they look SO BIG (eyeballs grow very little).
Very facile at verbal mimickry suddenly. Said "quiche", "piggy," can repeat almost any two-syllable word. Now knows sneaker, water.
