domestic day (and bulgogi)
Jan. 16th, 2005 02:43 pmYesterday we:
got haircuts (I don't like mine, and I think I need a different stylist as this one doesn't get me - I want shorter and more edgy and he makes me Carol Brady)
went to lunch at a Korean/Japanese restaurant to celebrate the wedding of mr. flea's colleague - ate bulgogi - my first Korean meal - Casper loved it - by the way I see no need for sushi, and I've had good sushi, or so said the NYC foodie-type who chose the restaurant - it's just not for me
went to the mall in Raleigh, to return a useless gift to Sharper Image (where they had so few useful things we had a hard time choosing a replacement, and went with an iPod case), visited Crate and Barrell to look at furniture (which they had none, uselessly) and generally came away disgusted with humanity and commerce.
so, today:
baked scones, whoops doubled the milk, added extra flour, they came out okay.
hard boiled eggs, peeled carrots, steamed broccoli, for the week's lunches
sat around and ead while Casper gambolled, unwilling to get dressed. Still in hot pink onesie as of this writing.
probably not going to leave the house
about to go bake bread, I think, or maybe apple crisp, or both
listening to Stevie Wonder
Casper news:
saw the area of those ride-on trucks you activiate with 50 cents in the mall and went running with joy. She's been a couple of times at our local mall - we don't put money in, just let her climb and drive.
will tell you if she has pooped. Probably an Ellen trick - Ellen (21 months) is obsessed with poop right now. still, clever - and useful! Some false positives.
generally a darling, busy creature.
