Oh, the poor little guy! I need to get a crown on a cracked tooth, and I am very nervous about it. This tooth has been cracked for four years, but my previous (beloved) dentist was like, "Enh, we'll keep an eye on it. No need to hurry into anything." Then he died of a heart attack a couple months later. I still miss him, he was awesome. Anyway, the practice has changed hands twice since then, and the newest dentist looks like he's 12 years old, and he insists the cracked tooth needs a crown. "You could end up needing a root canal! Or it could break at an inconvenient moment! Just cap it now!"
I hate to think he's right. But the tooth is getting sensitive; I notice that I don't like to chew on that side anymore. But Doogie Howser DDS said the anti-magic words, "we'll just grind down the tooth..." and now I'm not sure I can set foot in that office again.
