Oh, it's quite complicated. The only way to actually get back to sleep is to go all the way downstairs, sit on the toilet in the bathroom, and catch the little cat who comes to investigate, then lock him in the bathroom. Otherwise, no matter what you say, throw, or how well you shoo, they are back to fighting under the bed in half an hour.
Two things we (which is to say mr. flea) acquired in the last year that I resent? Second cat, and lace-up high tops for the (then) 4 year old. (It's a nice cat, but I did like sleeping between 3 and 5 am.)
