Well, yes and no. We just spent six weeks trying to negotiate a refi, at not-inconsiderable expense to us in incidental costs, and found that basically everyone involved wanted to swindle us.
After spending several hundred dollars on the deposit, housecleaning, etc. etc., we finally decided we were better off walking away from the deal than engaging in a financial transaction involving our mortgage at this point in time. It was really bad. If mortgage brokers were really desperate for good-quality loans, they'd want ours, but...yeah.
