I have to say that I used to miss the red clay, but I don't anymore. I just liked the way it looked -- I'm by no means a gardener.
What I miss most about NC is the pretense of politeness. People will be astoundingly rude to you, but they'll do it with at least a veneer of politesse. A sop, perhaps, but one I miss. You can tell me to fuck off, but I PREFER it when you say "Fuck off, ma'am."
