fleaThe cat was, in fact, in some mysterious indoor catly location, and emerged at about 7pm.
There is a mourning dove nesting on the front porch, right across from the door. The doves sit on the nests the entire two weeks, trading off days and nights. Since he (males do the days) sat there for the entire move-in yesterday, I figure nothing can scare them. So in less than 2 weeks, babies!
The front yard is infested with enormous black and yellow grapphoppers. Seriously, 3-4 inches. They are a little prehistoric and scary.
Someone ate the amaryllis I left in pots in the front yard 2 weeks ago. Seriously, completely consumed. I hope it was not the scary prehistoric grasshoppers.
mr. flea saw a hummingbird in the front garden yesterday.

Date: 2008-07-28 12:47 am (UTC)We have two pairs of ringneck doves (females are mother/daughter, males are random dudes from the pet store :) We've had the senor bird since... well, 13 years? and the younger female was born shortly after we moved here so 9 years? And they have eggs almost every six weeks. LOOK! THEY'RE EGGNANT!
