talking to the void
Jul. 2nd, 2004 02:06 pmYou know, even though I am in theory talking to the void here, I feel more listened to than I usually do at b.org. Even if there's no response. So, a few thoughts:
Drank a Snapple Lime Green Tea for lunch and it was ech, while I've loved it before. Realized after I was done it was "diet" which means the ech was whatever artificial sugar they use to make it no-calorie. Ech.
My boss purchased a READ poster for me at this past weekend's library conference. It is of Orlando Bloom. Now, I like our Orli just fine, but it's not like I sing his praises around the office, nor do I in fact squee over him in general. He's a cute, fun bloke who seems like a very young man to me. So why does she have this idea I'm obsessed with him? She also told me yesterday I should make sure that my "peer group" votes in the upcoming election. Um, I'm a 31 year old parent - my peer group is mostly people with a lot of stake in this election (it elects the school board, among other things). These two facts combined make me wonder if my boss has forgotten that I am an adult and not a college student. Also, I have been directed to hang the poster in the office, which is a pity as while it is nice I don't care much about it and was planning to offer it to someone who might care more, like ita or my fangirly 17 year old sister.
I had a third thing but forgot it. Ach.
