today is a roller coaster

fleaI am very very tired; the baby slept reasonably well in Boston and terribly last night. Also, it was a long day - flight a little delayed, and baby overtired and spent 3 hours in our laps bouncing up and down. Nothing catastrophic, just = tired.
In bad news, public school for Casper starts Aug. 27 and the Cape Cod house is rented until Aug. 25. So there's really no point in going north this summer; I am not going to have Casper miss the first week of school. I have not yet broken this news to my mother, who will NOT be happy. Two summers in a row with no beach, sigh, and I still haven't even seen the Cape Cod house.
In good news, we had a nice visit, I dyed my hair for the first time (very subtle foils, but they look good, unless it is all psychosomatic), not much fighting, no potty accidents, reasonably happy children.
Feeling behind the 8 ball at work. Would like to creep under desk and nap, but not really an option.
OH: Casper saw a commercial for healthy eating the other night where a woman orders "thunder thighs and a badonkadonk butt" in a drive through. Now she says, "badonkeydonk butt" all the time, even though we very carefully did not crack up when she started. It is a pretty good sounding word. She doesn't know what it means; I asked what "badonkeydonk" meant and she said it was a kind of monkey. She also things "herbivore" is a kind of monkey.
