An especially nice thing about Carter's is that, if you have relatives with questionable taste, you can make a big deal about how much you love dressing the kids in Carter's clothes and feel fairly safe about any gifts that may result.
My husband's stepmother loves to buy Alex big heaps of clothes, and, um, her taste is not our taste. But she shops exclusively at Carter's outlets (thanks to our raves, I think), which means that although the clothes tend to be pink, at least they aren't skimpy, inappropriately sexualized, uncomfortable, or poorly made.
