the kids grew
Aug. 23rd, 2006 01:30 pmCasper: 34 pounds, 39 inches, both 90%ile. She got a Hep A shot and didn't weep at all. For comparison, at 2 weeks shy of my 3rd birthday I was 38 3/4 inches and 30 pounds, and ended up 5'11". (My childhood nicknames included "skinny doogan" and "bony butt" - she is not fat at all, but definitely more solid and I think larger framed than I.)
Dillo: 11 pounds 15 and 1/2 ounces (97%ile - go team Too Much Milk!) and 22 1/4 inches (75%ile). Got the whole raft of shots (DPT, Prevnar, Hep B, I forget what else - only 3 needles total), cried his head off. We don't have to go in again until the next battery, at 4 months.
Yay almost 12 pounds. So glad he is big and healthy.
Dr. Betty patted us on the head and said, "Yes, I know Casper didn't sleep for shit, but he's only 6 weeks old - you shouldn't expect anything like normal sleep habits at this age." So I will try not to stress about it. But if he magically decided that now he weighs 12 pounds he can sleep 6 hours in a row, that would be okay with me.
