day after Thanksgiving
Nov. 27th, 2009 09:45 amWe had a pretty low-key day, including an impromptu playdate with neighbors, so that was nice. mr. flea's birthday gift of a Garmin nuvi 260w arrived Wednesday night, so he spent the day downloading upgrades, entering every address we could possibly ever drive to, and calculating the distance to Seattle. When I woke him this morning (he was in Dillo's bed after a 4am nightmare shuffle) the GPS was next to him on the floor!
Today he's at work, and I am itching to do. Have done most of the Thanksgiving dishes, and put a load of laundry in. I am contemplating some big furniture rearranging that I should really consult the other adult who lives here about. In the meantime I can clean. The bathrooms need it, the LR needs to be vacuumed, and there's general pick-up and decluttering. Pardon my limited enthusiasm.
We bought a commercial turkey breast this year (when you shop the day before Thanksgiving at 4pm you get what you get) and it was pre-brined with something that kept it juicy but made the meat unnaturally sweet. Next year I need to plan better and obtain a more natural bird.
