juiced

Casper is still very coughy. Which led to the following exchange at 1am:
Casper: I want some juice!
me: (hands Casper the cup prepared next to her bed)
Casper: This is not good juice!
me: Um, I think it's juice mixed with water.
Casper: I want juice mixed with JUICE!

We went to the grocery store with the best of intentions yesterday - we only lacked onions to make a cannellini bean/kale/tomato sauce for pasta, very healthy and yum. We came home with a can of store-brand biscuits and another can of Dinty Moore beef stew, and ate that. (It wasn't even very good, IMO, but mr. flea had one of those food nostaliga cravings. And it gave me a good idea of something to cook - real beef stew - while my carnivorous visitors are here this week).

Today we must Xmas shop.

mr. flea is sitting watching Funny Videos, with Casper in his lap, wrapped up in a blanket. A public service ad advising parents to talk to their children about smoking comes on. Casper coughs.

mr. flea: You know, with that cough, it makes me wonder if you've been out on the playground at school, smoking. Have you?
Casper: Yes.

Parental laughter and conversation ensues.

mr. flea: Do you even know what smoking is?
Casper: No.

I am googling for Disney Princess pencil cups for my neice. Ah, Christmas.
