been down so long it feels like up

It feels like it's been a terrible hard week for everyone of my virtual acquaintance, in some cases building on actual horrible events, and in others just general maiaise and worn-downness. Heaven knows I am there with you all.

But the solstice has happened, and even though I was on the bus to work at 7:45 this morning and the sun wasn't over the horizon yet, the light is coming back, and we'll all dig out and climb up and keep moving into spring. Hang in there, everyone.

With associated deadlines. Since I tried to go to bed at 7pm yesterday, we'll see how far we get. Unfortunately many of these MUST be done.

Quicken, pay bills (in time for tomorrow's post)
vacuum whole house and clean bathroom at least superficially (before 10am playdate Friday)
Address dismantled crib in dining room issue (ditto)

Everything else: before 7am Saturday, when we leave for the airport
Make peppermint bark
Make ginger cookies?
Hit Fowler's (=gourmet grocer) for stocking stuffer goodies and Moravian ginger snaps
Laundry (1 or 2)
Charge camera
Charge ipod
Select DVDs to bring
Pack for me and Casper
Figure out what presents (to us) to bring and how to pack them
FIND CAT SITTER!!! (Note to self- stop dithering on internet and do this right now)
