Casper went to bed at 7:30, slept until about 3, cried with 2 visits until nursed at 3:30. Then slept until 7. She's learned that angry crying won't get her anywhere, but calling out for us ("ayah, ayah," which originated as the nanny's name - Tonya - and has been worn down by use, and which she uses to mean "come help or rescue me, you big person you") tugs on the heartstrings a bit more. Little manipulator.

So, we're getting 8 hours of sleep in a row out of her each night now - it's just not well organized enough to fall during the times when I'd like to be sleeping uninterruptedly. I'm wondering if it makes sense to wake her at 10 or 11 and nurse her, to try and get the sleep to fall into the 10 pm to 6 am window.

A note on language - Casper seems to pronounce new words better on first use, then degrade them through use. At first her baby was "baba" and the bottle was "ba-guhm" but now the latter means both. Tonya was originally "anya" and now is "ayah". She said "flower" clear as a bell for the first time the other day, on seeing my valentine's tulips. My favorite thing she says is still "batsss" for bath.

She climbs on the toilet. Have I mentioned this? We've moved everything but the comb and her toothbrush to the top of our bureau. She likes to straddle the seat facing backwards, or alternately, stand on tiptoes so she can see herself in the mirror.
