Jun. 22nd, 2004 05:48 pmSingle parents of the world, I salute you.
It's going to be a tired week. Took a solid 1.5 hours of wrangling to get a very tired Fussa to take a nap, and now she's going to oversleep and screw up bedtime. Dang.
Happily tomorrow is the last weird day - after that her schedule will be pretty much normal, and though I'll have to juggle mine still I have nothing pressing. Today was the first day with new!backup!sitter, and resulting nyah nyahs. Also, I got to work and barely had a chance to log in to my computer what with all the hecticity. Today was 8th candidate interview - now we have a respite until after July 4. Phew. Tired of candidates.

The Fussa pulled herself to stand in the crib during the extended wrangle this afternoon.
She still loves to eat clover flowers. Doesn't swallow 'em, just sucks on 'em. Was very good at escaping my sweep-foreign-objects-out-of-baby's-mouth finger today. And pleased with herself for being so - she was making it a game.
She was also vastly pleased at the game of bite mummy's nose off. She doesn't get too much tooth action - reserving that for my shoulders - but I am really not too fond of the nostrils full of baby spit. On the other hand, she loves it so much it's hard to deny her a few rounds.
She pulls other babies' hair, then cries when they cry. Cried at the cat's growling at her this morning.
I love the smell of her milky breath after she's nursed - a plus of the bite off mummy's nose game.
Is much into finger foods - loved zucchini bread made from msbelle's recipe. Has been eating a little cooked chicken.
*******
Tucker has an appointment with the final needle tomorrow, and I am sorry for the poor creature. He has had a hard life - declawed (over my protests), left to fend for himself on Martha's Vineyard all summer (ditto), lives in a house with a man who hates cats, has been allowed outside to tangle with raccoons and other toms (ditto ditto on the protests). He is neurotic and timid and doesn't get enough love. I hope the passing is gentle.
