Book news:
1. Finished Sex, Drugs and Migrant Workers, or whatever Eric Schlesinger's latest was called. Underwhelmed, and faintly cheated - it was quite short, with 100 pages of footnotes, and reworked already published magazine articles.
2. Finished The No.1 Ladies Dectective Agency. I ended by liking it a great deal, though I am still not sure I should have. A longer comment on this one will follow when I have time.
3. Read/skimmed Tine Thevenin's The Family Bed. Rest assured, I only read any and all parenting books as a detached sociological-anthropological observer. Otherwise the top of my head would have come off long ago. This was an interesting one, so clearly of its time and so clearly defensive, with very little of real interest to someone who is, in fact, currently sleeping with an infant.

Baby news:
1. While being undressed for her bath last night, got a big toe in her mouth. Seemed very pleased. Hee. Very interested in grabbing feet of late in general. Too bad it's cold enough that socks are a must. Playing "tambourine" this morning by beating her favorite rattle (the one with the lion head) against her right foot.
2. GREAT night sleeping last night! To bed at 8, up only at 12, 2 and 5! And when she was wide awake at 5:15, mr. flea was too with a sore back (he needs to do yoga again!) so he got up with her and I slept more! Now, if this happened every night, I would be happy happy.
3. Fun wiggle session last night while watching Access Hollywood (yes, she was watching, too. It's too early to warp her brain, right? Plus they had Kate Hudson on who actually looked like she's just had a baby, so it had good role models. (Note I'm handwaving Janet Jackson)). She'd roll almost all the way back-to-front, then change her mind and roll back. Maybe good rolly workout before bed leads to good sleeps?
