Our upbringing is considerably more ambitious than middle-middle class, I would say. And I have seen this meme done a bunch of times now, and it's completely bizarro and wrong-y. Like, Ever been to New York as a marker of being spoiled?? What about all those people who live there?
The thing with the lakes, same diff. Of course I have access to a body of water! Revere Beach is one of the first public beaches on public transit (its own T station!). I think access to a body of water is only a luxury if you live in, like, the desert.
