In which I am turning into an idiot

fleaI was just FORTY MINUTES LATE for a meeting. That I knew about, checked my calendar this morning and reminded myself about, thought about as late as 10:30am, and then completely forgot about until I looked up from compulsively hitting refresh on LJ comments to think "My god, it's 1:41 and that meeting is at 1pm!!"
Worse? I did the same thing yesterday, to a meeting I WAS CHAIRING. Luckily only about 15 minutes late in that case.
Am I distracted and insane, or what? I hate being like this. If there is one thing I can count on me being, it is reliable. A major portion of my indentity is freaking out on me! Help!
