Alexander McCall Smith, 44 Scotland Street. No spoilers.
As Armistead Maupin to San Francisco, so AMS to Edinburgh. He admits in the foreword it's a deliberate homage. First appeared in a newspaper, The Scotsman. Episodic, decent bus reading. Many POV characters, more than half of whom I find annoying, and even I (with my limited knowledge of Scotland) feel like he's painting broad stereotypes. Does not actually have a resolution of most story lines; presumably they published it as a book because it had reached a certain page quota? I gather the serial in the paper is ongoing. Note: Amazon and professional reviews describe it as full of wry humor with endearing characters, so maybe you'll like it more than me.

Today's Sesame Street earworm: Fuzzy and Blue, by Grover, Herry Monster, and Cookie Monster. Beats the hell out of the Wubba Wubba song.

Grandparents seem to be doing well with Casper. Grandpa is especially pleased as she is a snuggly sort and so is he (and his other grandchildren are not).
