Sesame Street, Cheerios

fleaI don't think I've mentioned that mr. flea watches a little Sesame Street with Casper some mornings he is home with her. Apparently she watches for 10-15 minutes and then starts to get rowdy (bored, or riled up?) so he turns it off. mr. flea likes Elmo. mr. flea talks in an Elmo voice, but only when he wants to annoy flea.
I've started putting five or so cheerios (is the brand name becoming generic, like kleenex? These are actually Whole Foods brand Whole Oat Os) on the high chair tray. They are currently a toy and not food - she chases them around, occasionally catches one, but then drops it before putting it in her mouth. She finds this great fun, and I suppose it is good fine motor control practice.
A good weekend, with lots of outdoorsiness and walks and running into other babies we know. We are starting to know a lot of babies - almost all girls, actually. (Probably not a statistically significant observation).
Casper may be working on a tooth. She spent all day yesterday doing a new thing with her tongue - working it in and out, and poking it in the lower right corner of her mouth. She also gnawed on her thumb to the extent that it was sore and red. I can't see or feel anything in the jaw, but maybe. She was cranky at night, but I think that was not enough naps and too much stimulation from our grocery trip and the park.
Sleep is sort of "eh". Not much progress - some good nights, some bad. Lots of waking up between bedtime and midnight lately. We try putting her to sleep in her snowsuit, but I don't think being warm (she wiggles up out of blankets and has icy paws in the morning) is helping much. The nanny and mr. flea both think it helps, but I don't see it.
