After the melodrama of earlier in the week, I am a little nonplussed to announce that my mother put in a bid on the Woods Hole house (against my advice) and it was accepted this afternoon.
If you hear of a suburban Boston matron held for questioning in a string of bank robberies, think of me.

Busy long day, mr. flea off at 6am for 5 full days away at a conference. Casper and I walked to the farmer's market and Stone Bros. and ate strawberries all the way home, then planted our haul: 3 egglants (Neon and ?Primavero) and a jalapeno pepper, plus 9 impatiens. And watered the lot. Interested to note that my single calla lily (which is yellow - they were supposed to be pastel pink) is attracting japanese beetles, the first I've seen here. Brandywines beginning to set fruit, and amazingly I still have some tiny carrot seedlings living.
Afternoon went to the pool by bus which worked very well but we are both a little sun-exposed. Casper went staright in to the water this time and we left only when she got cold.
